SO glad to announce that this year's Father-Daughter Dance proceeds went to a very worthy cause: Girl Scouts of Japan Relief efforts. The Girl Scouts National organization set up a special fund to enable Girl Scouts to contribute to relief efforts in Japan:

St. Edward Girl Scouts made a $500 donation to this fund, thanks to your active participation in and support of the Father-Daughter Dance. It feels good to do good - and the dance was fun too! PLEASE take a moment to pass this information on to your daughters. It's important that they know this money is going to a good cause.
We also made our normal annual donation of $250 to St. Edward Church, our sponsor, in recognition of the support they have provided in letting us use their space over the years. This leaves just enough in the St. Ed's account to pay for the DJ deposit next year.
The thank-you letter from Girl Scouts Overseas is listed below. Special thanks to our sponsorship treasurer, Elizabeth Wallery, for handling the various transactions.
Thanks and have a great day!

Dear Wallery:
Thank you for your generous donation of $500.00 on behalf of Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago St Edward, paid with a Visa. Without the support of companies like yours, Girl Scouts of Japan Relief Efforts would not be able to help our girls in need.
Once again, thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Sister Scouts Overseas
